I seem to have begun the year+ long process I typically engage in when thinking about possibly acquiring a new primary vehicle... To that (continuing) end a (presently) hypothetical for you oppo:
You may choose 1:
Mazda CX-3 Touring AWD
Hyundai Kona Limited AWD 1.6t
Jeep Renegade Altitude AWD/manual 1.4t
Which one? Why?

I don’t really want any of them. but my Dad got the Kona and is a big fan of it. I’d get it cause I like it’s blue better than the rest?

Jeep Renegade because Italian, and you can actually get it in colors. Wait, if there’s an AWD manual Renegade why not an AWD manual 500x. I mean, I know it’s because nobody buys the 500x anyways. S till, tthough

I would pick the jeep, cause of small manual awd.
Finally found my SX4 (2010-2015 r.i.p) replacement just need money

Given these three: Hyundai Kona, because it might not rust.
Given other options: Kia S oul

Kona because that is the right trim, if you can live with the frog looks it’s got the space, features, longer warranty and better engine compared to the other 2. Sure the Cx3 is going to handle well but think how much more better on a daily driving basis. Now if it were the mazda 3 hatch 2.5 then that is a different story. Can you get a used Cx5 for the same price range as these 3?
The Kona has been getting excelent reviews pretty much everywhere.
Wouldn’t recommend the Renegade depsite manual.

The lifted Cadillac wagon with truck wheels that isn’t on the list.
Because it needs to be on the list.

Get the Jeep, then give it a mufflerectomy and put an Abarth tuner on it.
Drive it for 3 years max, and trade it in on something new before it breaks.

because the ecoSport is a gutless, soulless perversion of the Fiesta? Because it manages to take an honest little econo-hatch with serious fun potential and a bonafide sports-car performance version and turns it into a milquetoast city-suv with all the performance of a 90's minivan and the off road capability of a Subaru WRX? Because I’m feeling a bit betrayed by Ford and their ditching of non-mustang cars in the US? Maybe I think it looks silly (it does) and, maybe I just want to see what oppo values most by making the options “fun-to-drive”, “reliable/practical” and “manual/tunable” while simultaneously cloaking the options in the guise of boring CUVs? Maybe I just Don’t Like It.
//maybe I overly have developed opinions of vehicles I may never even test drive, let alone own...

Drive the Jeep and see if you like it. My boyfriend has the 2.4 and while it is a cool car, I dislike driving it. Position is weird.
I'd go Mazda.

The Crosstrek you didn’t list because its AWD system is likely more effective at actually not getting stuck in mud/snow, it can be had with a 6-speed manual, and in 5 years it’ll be worth significantly more than any of the others you listed because depreciation on Mazda’s, Hyundai’s and Jeeps other than Wranglers is brutal.

On a more serious note doesn’t CarsofFortLangley have a CX-3? Maybe repost when he’s around for his thoughts on it.

Quirky, turbo, manual Jeep.
or
Another bland, boring CUV.
Obvious answer is obvious.

Why do people always have to use the Odyssey?
It’s a terrible example of how fun minivans can be. This is a better choice:
